Job Description
Cycle Shop Sales Assistant
Geared Up Leisure Ltd in Wombwell, Barnsley are looking to hire a part time, retail, sales assistant. This role would ideally suit an organised, outgoing individual with previous retail sales experience within the cycling industry.
As Sales Assistant, the candidate would assist customers in identifying and purchasing products they either require or desire with the aim to increase sales growth and revenue within the company. This would include selling, restocking and social media marketing.
Job Description/Duties
-Meet and greet customers
-Inform customers of shop promotions to encourage purchases
-Bicycle and accessory sales
-Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
-Booking cycles in for repair and liaising with the mechanics
-Stock control & maintenance of a fully stocked store
-Management of the store condition & retail environment
-Receive & organise deliveries accordingly
-Responding to customer enquiries via social media & e-mail
-Improving customer engagement through social media
-Answering the phone.
Skills/Experience Required
Experience
-The ideal candidate will have experience of retail procedures inc. cash handling.
-Excellent customer service skills.
-A friendly and approachable demeanour
-Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
-Knowledge of the cycle industry would be useful
-Be proficient in the use of Social media platforms
Working conditions and what we offer
This is an exciting role that would ideally suit an outgoing individual with previous retail experience and an enthusiasm for cycling.
-Permanent, part time role working 4 days per week (must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays.)
-28 days holiday per annum inc. public holidays (pro rata)
-Working hours between 9.00am – 5.30pm (half an hour for lunch)

-Salary negotiable dependent upon experience.
