Located at the heart of the business and based at Cycle Heaven's 10,000' main store, the Purchasing Lead is responsible for strategic purchasing and stock management across the 3 Cycle Heaven sites, for all bikes and accessories.

You will be responsible for the creation of and continuing co-ordination of the annual calendar of purchasing, including reviewing historic sales, organising supplier visits, liaising internally with key staff to design the most effective bike and merchandise ranges to offer in store.

You will need to negotiate the best deals with suppliers as well as ensuring that all of the product profiles are in place, parts established and re-order levels set in accordance with appropriate deadlines. You will also be responsible for all of the day-to-day stock replenishment including the scheduling of seasonal returns.

You will work with the Store Manager to manage the category management Team to continually improve sales through the introduction of new products and the cancellation of underperforming lines.

You will oversee an efficient goods-in function and work to maximise the storage efficiency of both the head office booking-in room and warehouse. You will lead the annual stock take processes, in consultation with and support from key members of the team and schedule them into the calendar.

You will be required to provide quarterly forecasting and analysis for management team as also the provision of any interim updates as required and contribute to the business annual work plan.

Essential

Proven purchasing & budget management experience

Demonstrable team player with strong communication skills

Retail Sector experience

Enthusiastic about cycling in general

Change management experience

Experience of working with cloud based POS systems

Experience of setting up of click & collect functions

A qualification in a related field would be desirable
