The aims of the day involves highlighting the crucial role that physical activity plays across the UK and helping to raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles.

According to a study undertaken by the World Health Organisation last year the UK is ranked 123rd out of 168 nations for physical inactivity. The average UK adult spends more than twice as long making tea as they do exercising, according to new research commissioned by ukactive.
