Grooves has been an independent record shop since 1990. Featuring a wide selection of new and pre-owned vinyl, CDs and memorabilia. Grooves also offers film, toys & games, homeware & gifts, books and much more. In 2018, Spirit of Orkney, was the first album release on Old Library Records. This CD gives an overview of music in Orkney, with traditional music, songs & pipe tunes.
Archive Coffee has become a popular destination in Kirkwall; offering great, fresh food, fantastic coffee & delicious home bakes. All coffee & baking is available to eat in or take away. We also have craft beer on tap and offer a selection of local gins and whisky.
The Sound Archive is a live music venue, which has hosted acts including Newton Faulkner, Scouting for Girl & Tide Lines, since it opened in 2017. See our social media for current gig listings. The Sound Archive is the only place in the UK to offer Highland Park Full Volume on the bar.
The Exhibition Room showcases the wealth of artistic talent living and working in Orkney. Exhibitions usually run for three weeks.
