We are an independent record store, specialising in Vinyl, we stock new, special edition vinyl plus some vintage vinyl that has been cleaned and graded. We also stock a range of wine, beer and juice. The wine is mostly organic and vegan and we serve by the glass or bottle to drink in or take away.

Best Small Shops competition 2020

What makes you the UK's Best Small Shop

We have become a real social hub in town, still get 5* reviews across all platforms Google, Facebook and Trip Advisor. We introduced TGT "GOODIES" app and loyalty program to reward customers with a free glass of wine or money off records. We stay open until 7pm to allow people who work office hours to visit, and open all weekend including Sundays when most shops are closed. We have the expanded range of wine and beer going TOTALLY VEGAN and seek organic and sustainable wine makers. We give prizes to local school events and raffles and have supported fundraising for Macmillan, Alzhiemers , MS (via charity box) Cancer Research UK via sales of our songs and Australian wildlife via Â£1 per bottle on sales of Aussie wine. We recycle our materials (mostly glass, tins and cardboard) and our (free) bags are bio-degradable plastic. Till/card unit are wifi/bluetooth with tap to pay & google/apple.

Tell us how you engage with the local community

We run monthly local songwriting events in the store which are open to all, to try songwriting, contribute or just meet up.
We have a (vinyl) Singles Club each month where people come along to play and talk about their favourite music and swap songs
We hold regular testing events with suppliers where customers get to help choose the next wine to add to the range and "meet the maker" sessions where we invite the wine or beer maker to the store for 'meet and greet'. We are advocates of "indie retail UK" and "just a card" via both Winyl and Manningtree Town as I am chair of the Manningtree District Business Chamber @manningtreetown to encourage business to work together, we with work Tendring regeneration manager Rachel Fryer We held a joint music event with Estuary wine bar in October to celebrate our first year of trading and supported the new cafe 7 south street with an art and wine launch.
