TEAMMC Cycles is a vibrant bike workshop and café based in Whitechapel, East London. As a social enterprise, all our profits are donated to Muslim Charity to support its life-changing and life-saving humanitarian projects around the world.
We provide high-quality bicycle servicing, expert repairs, a welcoming café space and a growing cycling club – all rooted in community values.
We’re looking for a skilled and trustworthy Bicycle Mechanic to join our team 2–3 days per week. You’ll be responsible for bike servicing, repairs and customer interaction – as well as acting as a key holder – opening and closing the shop and overseeing day-to-day workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out bicycle servicing
- Performing workshop cleaning
- Diagnosing faults and providing clear, honest repair quotes
- Maintaining workshop tools, cleanliness, and parts inventory
- Acting as a key holder on shift: from time to time, opening/closing the shop and handling end-of-day procedures
- Supporting community-focused events and building relationships with local cyclists
Skills/Experience Required
- 1–2+ years’ experience as a bicycle mechanic (shop or mobile)
- Confident with a wide range of mechanical work (gears, brakes, wheels, etc.)
- Friendly, customer-first attitude
- Trustworthy and self-motivated
- Strong communication and time management
- Comfort using digital booking/inventory tools
- Flexibility to work weekends and cover when staff are on holidays
What You’ll Get
- £13–16 per hour (depending on experience)
- Staff discounts on parts, accessories and coffee
- Opportunity to grow with a values-driven, community-based team
- Involvement in youth programmes, group rides and café culture
- A role that blends bike mechanics with positive social impact
Join us in fixing bikes, building community, and making cycling accessible to all.
