Job Description – Shop Manager
Location: Newbold Comyn Cycle Trails Hub, Leamington Spa
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Salary: Competitive

About Us:
We are a growing cycle hire and retail business with four established locations across Warwickshire. Our newest and most exciting development is the creation of a new cycling hub at Newbold Comyn in Leamington Spa, offering bike hire, servicing, retail, coaching, and events — all centred around purpose-built trails.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our new location. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is confident working with the public, staff, and key partners. As Shop Manager, you’ll not only oversee our retail and hire services, but also play a key role in trail management, event coordination, customer bike servicing, marketing activities and stakeholder engagement. You’ll represent the site at meetings with local council and community groups, helping to shape the site’s long-term development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the shop, hire services, and trails.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming, professional environment.
- Lead a team of staff, including mechanics and hire assistants.
- Oversee and coordinate bike servicing and repairs, working closely with mechanics.
- Plan and deliver on-site events throughout the year.
- Support the delivery of coaching and activity sessions on-site.
- Handle marketing duties including social media content, promotions, and local engagement.
- Liaise with stakeholders including the local council and attend regular progress meetings.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all areas of the business.
- Report regularly to the Operations Manager on performance, issues, and opportunities.

Requirements:
- Cytech Level 2 qualification (minimum)
- Proven management experience in bicycle retail or associated leisure industries.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Confidence in stakeholder engagement and public-facing duties
- A hands-on, solutions-focused attitude
- Passion for cycling, the outdoors, and community-driven projects
- Flexibility to work weekends and support events as required
- Knowledge of health and safety practices in public or outdoor spaces

Benefits:
- Competitive salary
- Staff discounts
- Flexible working hours
- First aid training provided
- Opportunity to be part of a growing and community-focused business
