Dress shop crowned winner of Cambridge Christmas shop window competition.

Posted on in Business News

Dress shop Pocket Watch & Petticoats in Trinity Street has been crowned the winner in Cambridge BID’s Christmas window competition.

Festive window

Every year, shops and traders pull out all the stops to create festive displays designed to entice shoppers, and Cambridge BID selected a top 10 from 46 businesses.

Votes were cast on the Love Cambridge Facebook and Instagram pages and Pocket Watch & Petticoats came out on top, winning £100 for their chosen charity and a £100 Love Cambridge gift card for their team.

Kim Walker-Gill, shop manager, said: “I was very excited. I didn’t expect it, although I always pride myself on the windows because I do them not just for Christmas, I do them weekly and I love it.

“It’s so lovely just to see people come along and take photographs, it brings a bit of joy – and I was genuinely surprised.”

Kim added: “We’ve got a really good position here because it’s a big window and it’s nice that tourists come along and pop their head in sometimes and say, ‘Oh, I love your window’, which I think is lovely – very kind.”
