Communities come together for Local Bike Shop Day 2025 celebrations

Posted on in Business News, Cycles News

Local Bike Shop Day 2025 brought a wave of celebrations and community spirit to towns and cities across the UK, as cycling enthusiasts, local businesses, and curious passers-by came together to support their neighbourhood bike shops.

LBSD 2025 1

Organised by the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT), this year’s event saw a vibrant mix of activities that truly captured the spirit of the day. Bike shops pulled out all the stops from cycling maps, goodie bags and free bike heath checks and assessments. Many shops created a festive atmosphere with decorated storefronts, charity bake sales and bike washes.

Many bike shops, customers andmanufacturers showed their support by sharing statements, including charity Recyke Y' Bike, manufacturer Frog Bikes, and Tamworth Borough Council’s Visit Tamworth UK.

Other supporters included:

LBSD 2025 2

  • Exmouth Cycles: “Shopping small and keeping it local can often feel lost amid the digital world but cycling exists to be outside and we are here to enable as many people as we can to get out on their bikes, find freedom and feel good!”

  • Red Kite Cycles: “Where else can you get great service from real cycling enthusiasts, touch and test ride bikes, and heart-felt support to realise your cycling dreams?”

  • Frog Bikes: We’re proud to partner so many brilliant independent retailers across the UK and beyond who champion kids’ cycling every day – and we thank them for everything they do.

Local Bike Shop Day also sparked joy online, with social media buzzing under the hashtags #SupportYourLocalBikeShop#localbikeshopday amongst others. Photos of smiling customers, group rides and well-stocked bike displays filled Instagram and Facebook feeds, helping to build momentum and spread the word far beyond local streets.

As the day came to a close, one thing was clear: Local Bike Shop Day isn’t just a celebration of cycling—it’s a celebration of people, passion, and the power of local.

Thank you to all that supported your local bike shop! And if you missed it this year—don’t worry, you can drop in to your local bike shop anytime!
