Belhaven Bikes, based at Rigg Service Station on Belhaven Road in Dunbar, East Lothian, will mark its milestone with a ‘20th Anniversary Prize Draw’, giving customers the chance to win a £100 gift card.

Entries can be made instore up until Saturday 11 October 2025, with cupcakes available on Saturday 27 September 2025 as part of the celebrations.

Colin Cairns Ford of Belhaven Bikes said: “We very much appreciate our customers’ support over the twenty years, together with all the kind words, little gifts, friendship, cheerful chat and banter. Engaging positively and proactively with our community means a lot to us.

Since opening in 2005, the shop has carried out free bike safety checks at schools, held demo days and supported charity cycles, as well as contributing to community causes and supporting events, including providing a free bike service for a local trio that cycled from Iona to Edinburgh in 2020 to raise money for a hospice in memory of East Lothian resident Sarah Struthers.

Mandy Cairns Ford, Partner at Belhaven Bikes, said: “We're proud of our position as the local bike shop, located in the heart of our community with the community close to our heart and how we serve our home town of Dunbar and beyond. And what our small, environmentally positive, family business offers in terms of flexibility, personal service, local contribution and sustainability.”

Belhaven Bikes, a member of the ACT, has also been recognised as a BikeBiz 100 winner and was a finalist in the UK’s Best Small Shop competition, which led to a visit to the Houses of Parliament, with Local Bike Shop Day a regular fixture in the retailer’s calendar.

The shop, founded in 2005, sells bikes, e-bikes, skateboards and scooters, catering to all generations and budgets, while also offering repairs and servicing from its accredited Cytech workshop. The family-run business has also been recommended as a hire provider for cycling charity Sustrans’ National Cycle Network.

Jonathan Harrison, Director of the ACT, said: “Congratulations to Belhaven Bikes on reaching this impressive 20-year milestone. It’s fantastic to see a local cycling business not only thrive for two decades, but also become such an integral part of its community. Independent bike shops like Belhaven play a vital role in encouraging cycling, supporting riders of all ages, and keeping the spirit of local retail alive.”
