Important news about your card processing service

Posted on

Last year, ActSmart reported that HSBC Merchant Services would be changing their name to Global Payments at the start of 2013.

What's Changing?

On February 4th, our trading name is changing from HSBC Merchant Services to Global Payments and at the same time our legal name will change to GPUK LLP. This completes the journey that began in 2008 when HSBC Bank plc and Global Payments Inc. first set up what has been an incredibly successful enterprise. We subsequently became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global Payments Inc. in 2009.

Although our name will be different, there will be no change to our people or our processes.

We will also remain HSBC Bank plc's preferred strategic partner for card processing in the UK.

How Will This Affect You?

Whilst there won't be any changes in our day-to-day relationship or telephone numbers you may use, there are some changes that we need you to make to assist with our name change.

All existing customers will soon receive a letter directly from Global Payments outlining the changes and what actions you will need to take.

About Global Payments

Global Payments are market experts with over 40 years of payment processing experience. They deliver secure, cost-effective and comprehensive Card Processing solutions that can be tailored to meet your individual business needs.

They provide solutions for all sizes of businesses and for those who want to take payments via the internet or over the phone.

ActSmart's market knowledge combined with significant negotiating power and long-term relationship with Global Payments enables us to to offer competitive rates to our members. Over 400 outlets are using our exclusive package with Global Payments, generating over 1 million card transactions annually, worth over £200m.

Our scheme has been tailored to specifically meet the needs of ActSmart members and means that some transactions can be completed for as little as 10.4p*.

"I am very happy to say that the ActSmart card processing scheme is still the most competitive, having looked at several recent offers by other service providers" - Nigel Hill, Sidcup Cycle Centre
